Onward is a city fantasy animated movie created by Pixar Animation Studios. Although the film was released worldwide in early March 2020, it quickly became a favorite with millions of viewers around the world, including in Russia.
The story takes place in a unique magical world inhabited by elves, trolls, centaurs, and other mythical creatures. Long ago, magic ruled their world, but over time it was replaced by technology. One day, Laurel, an elf and the mother of Ian and Barley Lightfoot, gave her younger son Ian a magical staff for his sixteenth birthday, left to the boys by their father Wilden.
The brothers discover that a special stone in the staff can bring their father back for one day. Since they do not have enough magical experience, they unfortunately manage to restore only the lower half of their father's body. Not willing to accept such an incomplete spell, the brothers and their "half" dad set off in search of a magical crystal that can help them finish what they started and restore the upper half of their beloved father. Their journey through remarkable places brings fun, new friends, and adventures.
